QUESTIONS ABOUT ME & MY ACCOUNT

Q: I forgot my password, what should I do?
A: Please follow these steps:

  1. Click on "LOGIN"
  2. Click "FORGOT YOUR PASSWORD?"
  3. Enter your email and submit
  4. Check your inbox (check spam folder also) for an email from us with a temporary password link
  5. Click on this link and you will be prompted to the site to enter a new password.
  6. Once you've updated your password, please use this new one going forward.

Q: I can't log in, I forgot my username/email address.
A: Please click on "CONTACT US" and we will help you as soon as possible.

Q: How do I change my password?
A: Please follow these steps:

  1. Please log-in and click top right corner on "MY ACCOUNT" ? "CHANGE PASSWORD".
  2. Enter your old password? enter the new password? confirm.
  3. Once you've updated your password, please use this new one going forward.

Q: Who can view my profile?
A: Your profile information such as skin tone, age, etc will be displayed depending on your privacy settings. Note that your reviews will always remain public. To adjust your privacy settings:

  1. Please log-in and click top right corner on "MY ACCOUNT" -> "PRIVACY OPTIONS".
    There are three options available for you: "All Users", "My Community" and "No One"
    This is who can see those specific details on your profile. Note that not all details of your profile can be adjusted. (For example: Your profile picture and username will remain public).

Q: Who is in "MY COMMUNITY"?
A: Your community includes the people you follow and your followers.

Q: In "EDIT MY PROFILE" what are the benefits to filling out all the personal information?
A: Your complete profile can help others who may share the same characteristics as you and may better help readers understand your written reviews and preferences.

Q: How do I change my email?
A: Please follow these steps:

  1. Please log-in and click top right corner on "MY ACCOUNT" -> "MANAGE MY EMAIL"
  2. You will see your current email address
  3. Enter in your new email address and click "Update"
  4. Once you've updated your email, please use this new one going forward.

Q: How do I subscribe/unsubscribe for Amabie emails?
A: Please follow these steps:

  1. Please log-in and click top right corner on "MY ACCOUNT" -> "MANAGE MY EMAIL"
    You will see your current status there.
  2. If you want to subscribe, click on "Subscribe" -> update.
  3. If you want to unsubscribe, click on "Unsubscribe" -> update

Q: How do I manage my alerts?
A: Please follow these steps:

  1. Please log-in and click top right corner on "MY ACCOUNT" -> "ALERT OPTIONS".
  2. For each option we have a YES and NO for you to setup the alerts you want to receive.

QUESTIONS ABOUT REVIEWS

Q: Do I have to become a member to read the reviews?
A: No you don't have to become a member to read the reviews. However, if you want to rate or review about a product, you will have to "REGISTER" to become a member.

Q: How do I add a new review?
A: Please log-in.

  1. You can click "WRITE A REVIEW"
  2. You can go to a product page and click "Review this product" to write a review.

Q: How do I review a product that isn't listed?
A: If the product you want to review isn't there:

  1. Go to "WRITE A REVIEW" and click "Add a new product"
  2. After you've added in all the information and added the product, you can then finish your review.
    *If the brand you want to write about isn't there, please "CONTACT US" and send us the information. We will add the product and send you a notification so that you can write your review.

Q: Can I edit or delete reviews previously submitted?
A: Before submitting a review, make sure to use the preview function to see how the review would look after you press "submit". The site allows you to edit your review 24 hours after your last submission.

MISCELLANEOUS QUESTIONS

Q: Some product information is wrong, how can I correct it?
A: We apologize in advance for any incorrect product information listed. We do our best to verify the accuracy of all product information submitted to the database in advance. Should there be any error:

  1. Click on "CONTACT US" and select "Inaccurate information" from the drop box.
  2. Please notify us of the product and the inaccuracy. We will verify and edit the information as soon as possible.

Q: How do I report inappropriate reviews or content?
A: Below every review and Q&A, there is a "FLAG AS INAPPROPRIATE" button to click on
Once you click the button, we will receive your report and will review the flagged content.
Your identity will be kept anonymous to the member you have flagged.

Q: What is the wishlist and how do I use it?
A: The wishlist is a place for you to compile your favorite products while you browse the site. You can add any product into your wishlist from a product page. On each product that you've added, you can also insert a little note for yourself as a friendly reminder. The wishlist can be shared with others on the site or externally by email.

Q: I don't understand the benefits of some beauty terms and ingredients, where should I check?
A: "GLOSSARY" to check some specific information about beauty terms.
Note that not all terms and ingredients are necessarily listed. Also, any serious concern should always be researched and consulted with a professional.

Q: Am I allowed to post external links?
A: To maintain the quality of our user experience, please do not post external links anywhere on the site besides in the "About Me" section of your profile page

Q: Will the site be in other languages?
A: Now the site is only in English and Traditional Chinese. The site will be in other languages in the future.
