Hyaluronic acid is another skincare wonder ingredient: a simple summary (if you aren't familiar with how it works) is a naturally occurring part of your skin and helps your skin by supporting its ability to hold onto moisture. For those with dry skin it is an easy way to assure that later layers of moisture and hydration will absorb, for oily skin it often will provide enough support that you don't have to worry about clogging your skin with multiple layers and later steps.

CosRX is an easy favorite of mine: when you first look at the ingredients in any of their products they are simple and without bells and whistles but really get to what skin really needs. The Hydra Power Essence is no exception. There are seven ingredients in all but all in all this product packs a bunch of hydration that surprised me at first.

For the sake of full disclosure: my skin is very temperamental and HATES absorbing anything too heavy. My sister, a sufferer of dry skin that can be best described as scaly, find that this product helps provide what our skin needs without bogging it down.

Sure, it is a little bit more expensive than that Hada Labo option but I find it absorbs better and plumps and cares for my skin more than that Labo ever did. Cannot recommend enough.

If you are a fan of snail, you are missing out if you have yet to try this. Snail mucin is a wonder ingredient: those that struggle with blemishes that refuse to heal, redness, or a compromised moisture barrier should absolutely look into incorporating into their routine. With 96% of this product pure snail mucin, you will find no better product for healing and soothing angry skin than the CosRX essence. It is easily my favorite snail on the market and I find myself liking it more and more every time I use it.

To those unaccustomed to snail: many say that if suffer from dust mite allergies than you should avoid such products as it will cause a reaction. I decided to take the plunge despite it (as did my sister at the same time) and while my skin adored it, she broke out in whiteheads within hours. Proceed with caution and patch test or you might regret your decision.

For those who already swear by the snail, this is a remarkable addition to the lineup. I am on my third bottle and use it religiously.

I would like to preface this review with the confession that I am someone who prefers a natural eye look versus a glamazonian but I decided to take the dive into the world of smoky eyes. It wasn't hard for me to realize that this is probably the best palette one can pick for just that. The colors are awesome, the payoff and saturation are a-plus, and I think my only problem is that it is very hard for me to hide my mistakes as the shadow doesn't budge after application. Five stars!

What a fantastic product. If you don't have any experience with AHAs (alpha hydroxy acids) these chemical exfoliants are the power house resurfacer that has the ability to knock out blemishes of all kinds and this CosRX product is an awesome example of the good these actives can do. If you are someone who is clog prone, someone acne-prone, or find your skin inexplicably rough and bumpy this is definitely something you should look into purchasing.

With 7% glycolic acid this product is gentle enough for daily use with the proper pH in order for the AHA to be effective. I adore it, after three weeks of use I found my new skin nearly-blemish free and brighter than it has been in years.

Fair warning: this product is literally dissolving the dead skin cells so the smell.. it's definitely a unique one. Not enough to put me off but often I find myself side-eyeing it as I reach for the bottle to apply to my face.

If you decide to begin to play with AHAs, please be sure to use sunscreen as AHAs make one's skin photosensitive and much more susceptible to sun damage (leading to wrinkles and other damage).

Despite all that, it is honestly my favorite product in my entire routine and has done so much good that I wholeheartedly recommend it.

My absolute favorite mask on the market: Freeset Donkey Milk Healing Mask is an anti-trouble mask focused on healing and soothing troubled skin. With the star ingredients donkey milk, licorice root, and witch hazel it is amazing for skin that is inflamed, blotchy, irritated, or blemished-plagued skin.

Material is an interesting one: living somewhere between your traditional sheet mask fabric and a hydrogel, it is not drippy and fits very well on the face. The essence is a thick gel that my skin soaks up without trouble, leaving my skin brighter once removed (typically four-five minutes later). Will recommend shaking the packet well before opening as the gel can sometimes separate from the mask.

Love this. Cannot recommend it enough, you will not regret purchasing this mask.

I doubt the CosRX BHA needs yet another glowing review but BUCKLE IN FOR THE GUSHING!

Previously, my only experience with chemical exfoliants were the 70% alcohol-laden astringent toners from my spotted face past so I was a little worried when first receiving a decant of this.

This product was a serious game changer for me. Without the alcohol and featuring a gentler form of salicylic acid as the star ingredient (betaine salicylate) my skin could get the full effect of exfoliation without the irritation that often goes along with using actives.

BHAs are awesome: if you find yourself clog prone this will easily dissolve away the oils and sebum that are causing you trouble all the while working to diminish dark spots, the appearance of large pores, and prevent future breakouts from even forming.

Cannot recommend enough, I have personally repurchased this product three times and plan on buying another when I run out.

The fact that this product broke me out breaks my heart: it was hard to admit that this was the source of my blemishes because it made my skin so bright and radiant that I held on for much longer than I probably should have.

Here's the thing about this essence: if you have any sensitivity or predisposition to fungal acne DO NOT USE! Fungal acne can pop up as both cystic and whiteheads, so if you notice yourself breaking out after sweating, using antibiotics, or drinking beer, you might have a similar predisposition. And with 95% of this product fermented yeast filtrate as its star ingredient you will break out and it will be hard to get rid of. It took MONTHS to get my skin back to stasis.

After all the fantastic things I had heard about Banila Co Clean it Zero I was really surprised at how much I disliked it.

The balm texture is super appealing and it melted on my skin and removed my sunscreen and eye makeup without a problem.

Then came the actual problems: it refused to emulsify no matter how much water and scrubbing I used and then left an oily film on my skin. Three days of use and I was breaking out.

An AWESOME toner. I was a little weary about Benton products due to their formulation problems in the past but I am so glad I took the plunge on this. The ingredient list is awesome: two different types of aloe, snail filtrate, hyaluronic acid, and a little dash of salicylic acid helps prep my skin for acids later in the routine with a quick dash of hydration without leaving a film or any residue. Soothed any redness and tightness from cleansing, super great for my oily acne prone skin that loves to react to everything and anything. With how hot it was this summer, I kept it in the fridge and it became a treat for my skin I always looked forward to. Cannot recommend enough!

This sheet mask will always have a special place in my heart: the sheet mask that made me fall for sheet masks. The fit is okay, the frangrance nice and light, but it is the essence that really makes it for me. It's a slightly tea-colored serum with green tea extract, hyaluronic acid, collagen, niacinamide, witch hazel, and other Hanbang herbs plumped my skin and smoothed my skin tone in such a surprising way that I always have a few of these masks on hand. Didn't leave me sticky and even my oily skin soaked up every drop this mask had to offer.

For those who love to play with their actives and high-powered acids, this is your godsend. I first tried this as a 100 point sample from Sephora but I have now purchased a full size and never looked back. It is on the more expensive side but, in my mind, totally worth it.

The smell is light and nondescriptly herbal but it is really nice and has become one of my favorite smelling products on my vanity. Texture is thick and creamy, spreads easily and absorbs just as well, even for my oily skin.

With Ceramide 3 high up on the ingredients list, aloe vera, and licorice root, this cream is super soothing and great at healing any flakiness or sensitivity thanks to a damaged moisture barrier. And it does definitely heal! After stripping my skin with a mandelic acid peel my skin was back in business within five days, looking even brighter and healthier than it had before.

Packaging could be updated: I rather like the look of the old metal squeeze tubes but after three weeks of twice-daily use the logo foil is starting to break and I am worried about the actual tube doing the same.

Cannot recommend enough.

I am not sure if MBD masks are for me. The Apple Polyphenol was the third variety from My Beauty Diary that I have tried and I found the mask and the results lackluster.

The smell is dreamy: a light and fresh apple scent that I found really pleasant but after that is where it fell off. Not sure if it is the shape of my face but half of my nose was left uncovered and it was waaaay too long on for my face and found it extremely drippy and my chest seemed more drenched in the essence than my face was.

After ten minutes of it on it started to make my skin itch and left me sticky and shiny once I gave up. Will not repurchase.

Never completely sure if I love or hate this product. The material and fit of the mask (on my heart shaped face) is absolutely atrocious and yet every time I place an order for other products I end up throwing a couple of these into my basket without shame. My troubled skin seems to like it, easily absorbing all the essence in the mask and find my skin to be calmed and plump in a way that sometimes surprises me. I am not left with a sopping-face full of product that sits on my skin and the mask doesn't drip much so I know all that snail-bee goodness is working its way into my skin so despite my issues with the fit, I'll most likely always have a few of these masks lying around when needed.
