If anyone asks me one of my favorite skincare products, it would be oils. They are often so versatile and definitely a staple during my Canadian winters. Woodlot is a Vancouver based brand and they created this beautiful organic oil so well for all skin types. It claims to "illuminates, brightens and corrects the appearance of skin tone for a balanced, radiant complexion." It contains "Rosehip Oil, Olive Oil, Apricot Oil, Jojoba Oil, Argan Oil, Shea Butter, Bergamot Essential Oil, Chamomile Essential Oil, Lavender Essential Oil."

As someone who suffers from dehydrated and sensitive skin, this light oil definitely nourished and brightened my skin beautifully during my sleep. I only use this oil at night because its natural scent makes me ready for bed with its soothing vibes. It must be coming from the lavender essential oil. I would believe this oil could be an amazing companion in anyone's routine (if you're not allergic to any of the ingredients) especially during the harsh Canadian winters.

I received this product for free in exchange of my honest opinion from the brand via Skinvestment's event "Beauty Date x MTL."

I'm always looking for a great green shampoo ever since I realized most drugstore hair care were too harsh for my scalp and my skin. Not only this SoyBIO+ shampoo has a unisex scent, it is also free from parabens/paraffin, SLS and SLES. It is also animal orgin-free and safe for color treated hair along with chemical treated-hair and extensions.

SoyBIO+ claims to " improve scalp troubles such as dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis, by nourishing the scalp and making hair roots much stronger. It also help to lower scalp heat and reduce hair loss, which can be effective for preventing alopecia."

My hair is untreated black, thin, long and naturally straight. I noticed my scalp was definitely less itchy/dry after about 2 months of use. My hair loss significantly decreased with time, and I know because I am the one who does the cleaning at home! I definitely would recommend this shampoo if you has issues with dry scalp or dandruff and that you're looking for a cleaner/natural alternative. This shampoo also acts like a body wash as well so it is a fantastic 2 in 1 travel friendly product! A little bit goes a long way!

Everyone knows our body is composed mostly of water so it makes sense to keep ourselves well hydrated all year long. b.liv recently released this new moisturizing sheet mask which contains hyaluronic acid and lentil extract as key ingredients. Not only there is 28ml of essence per pack, but there is enough leftover to carry forward the moisture love to my other parts of the body that are often neglected (neck, elbows, foot, etc).

This sheet mask indeed gave me a boost of hydration after trying it a few times. It has a light scent but nothing overpowering. It claims to be suitable for dry and dehydrated skin but I would recommend this mask when you feel you need a boost of moisture into your skin!

I am someone who reads labels in every single beauty product that I use before putting it on my skin. This mask is free of alcohol, animal testing, artificial color, formaldehyde, fragrance, mineral oil, parabens, phthalates, silicone oil and sulfates! Plus, the first ingredient in the list isn't even water but betula platyphylla japonica juice! After putting it on for half an hour, my skin is so hydrated, smooth and glowing. Even the next day, my skin was still soft! I highly recommend trying this at least once in your life! Now I have a stack of them in my beauty closet!

If you love rose products look no further! You need to try this essence! Rose is amazing for dry/dehydrated skin and this has a high mucilage content (the stuff that plant secretes to moisturize itself) giving it intense hydration properties. If that is good enough for nature, it will be amazing for your skin as well. Everytime I apply this essence, it is like a rose heaven slapped on my face. I highly recommend this product!!!

If you like strawberry and bubble tea, look no further: this is the mask you need in your life. It's a very moisturizing mask even after half an hour and it actually does smell like bubble tea!! How amazing is that?! For those who aren't used to sheet mask, please reminder to remove the first layer of the packaging prior of putting this mask on!

Not only this packaging is so beautiful, but the product itself is amazing! I have dry sensitive skin so some cleansing oil strips my skin's natural moisture away. However, this cleansing oil gel doesn't and it removes ALL my makeup so darn well. I love this citrus scent so much that I sometimes use it as my morning cleanser just to wake me up. This product also have fermented Korean wildflower extract that improves the skin with time. I highly highly recommend trying this if you have the chance!

I purchased this via Daint ( for 35$.

I typically don't use bar soap to wash my body but this smells so heavenly of white musk, lily and peach. It's made with 100% natural cleansing properties hence I decided to give it a try. This really does not strip my skin's natural moisture and I can even skip moisturizer after shower. The only downside is that I wish it was more accessible in the Canadian market so I can try the other fragrances!

After using a few times of this makeup base, here are some of my first impressions:
1. It's a great makeup base for those who want glowing skin makeup (and not matte finish makeup).
2. It evens the skin tone well while giving a glow from within.
3. The texture is very lightweight and it doesn't dry my skin with time so I assume it hydrates the skin as well.
4. You can also use it alone without foundation for the lazy days and still look decent!
5. It's not cheap but you only need a pea size per application!

This cleansing balm is super travel friendly and you only need a little bit per cleansing session. You can use this as a morning cleanser but I use this as my first cleanser during my PM routine. It doesn't strip your skin's moisture nor natural oils and it removes makeup very well. There is no mineral oil or parabens in this product which is always a good thing to know!

This mist contains organic black beans which helps soothe troubled skin while hydrating it. I have dry sensitive skin and this really helps me go through this dry Canadian winter lately. If you suffer with unexpected redness, this mist will be your lifesaver since it reduces redness as well. This item will definitely go to my purchase list once I finish using this.

For those who are overwhelmed by the countless steps of beauty routines, herBEAU got your back! This Japanese cream is a toner, an essence and cream all in one jar! Apparently, a clinic first created this cream for their post surgery clients and it began to gain momentum rapidly in Japan. The texture is very light and easily absorbed to the skin. The scent is very herbal and nothing into your face. I highly recommend this cream to lazy people who want a full routine without the many steps!

Great lipbalm for those who suffer chapped lips during dry weather like the Canadian winter. It's always in my winter coat now! I even heard it even plumps some people's lips but I haven't seen any of such change as of today. Fingers crossed it will happen to me as well in the future!

Biggest mistake from me listening to the brand representative and not my own instincts. Indeed, this sinks into the skin well (probably due to the high alcohol content) and it has a soothing herbal scent to it. But after a week of using it after my cleansing step, it broke me out. My skin did feel a little bit smoother but it is not worth the price of drying out my skin and breaking me out. For me, this is equivalent of buying an expensive alcoholic toner... I wouldn't recommend for dry or sensitive skin especially to those who are sensitive to alcohol based products.

After Freeman Beauty recommended me this Manuka Honey Collagen sheet mask, I decided to give another try to Western brand sheet mask along with my Beelakuma (Rilakkuma in a bee costume 🐝) last night. During high school, I used to love Freeman's mask tubes especially their pineapple one. I don't know if that still exists nowadays though but it was a great budget mask when I had lower purchasing power as a teenager.
Although this product only contains extracts of manuka honey, it surprisingly left me with baby smooth hydrated skin with no irritations unlike the Garnier's moisture bomb sheet mask. Unfortunately, the Garnier one broke me out badly but I did not have any skin irritations at all with this Freeman one. There is indeed a slight fragrance scent in the product but very bearable compared to Garnier's fragrance that wouldn't fade away with time. I would definitely want to venture their other sheet masks if I didn't have sensitive skin. Maybe I will test the other masks on my SO

While browsing a travel magazine, I realized the Kose Sekkisei ad did not mention their eye cream, which is one of the best eye creams I ever used!!! 😱

Since I suffer from panda eyes
🐼, it does brighten my eyes while promoting blood circulation with a touch of herbal smell! I only use this at night though because it is in the thicker side of a cream. I'm not gonna lie; it is expensive but I look at skincare as an investment to age well with time. Plus a little goes a long way! I also like to store it in the fridge for an extra cooling effect! If you're a hygiene freak like I am, this product does come with a spatula but I just wash my hands every time prior to use instead... 🙄

I recently used this “TOP Luxury” mask from CY Lab. I first need to rant about the packaging confusion in terms of description: I understand the fact this mask has zero animal testing but I am very confused in terms of their mask’s key ingredients and target claims. In the back of the mask, there are THREE (not one) kinds of mask descriptions with different claims and ingredients. So my question is, does this mask claims to have one or ALL three benefits/ingredients? As a consumer who actually read labels, I am very disappointed in this mask in terms of labeling. When I looked up online, I realized this mask was actually titled “Triple Hyaluronic Acid Intensive Moisturizing Repairing Mask.” The brand should rethink on their packaging labels before releasing to the market… With that aside, I used this mask even being skeptical due to its multiple puzzling claims (YOLO aka You only live once). The scent is light, so nothing unbearable and it fades away fairly quickly with time. I decided to not leave it longer than 15 minutes as instructed just to be safe. My skin was much hydrated and smooth afterwards, almost achieving the chok chok glow I am always looking for! This mask gave me solid hydration at least, which is important to me. I would not recommend this mask to anyone until they fix their packaging labels to the consumers sadly. I don’t mind looking up for product reviews of this mask, but not for its actual description which normally brands would offer it crystal clear on the package from the start.

Aeria Skin Rejuvenating & Firming Eye Mask
The key ingredients:
1. Peptide
2. Edelweiss and olive extracts’ antioxidants
3. White horehound.
I used this mask for approximately 30 minutes instead of 15-20 minutes as recommended by the brand because it still felt very moisturizing past the 20 minutes mark, so I didn’t want to waste the essence! Afterwards, my eye contour did feel much hydrated but I am not so sure about the claim of reducing the appearance of fine lines since I only used it once. However, the brand did state that for optimal results, it is best to use this mask 2-3 times per week so perhaps if you do, the claim would be more apparent versus a onetime usage.

I received these masks courtesy of
@amabiebeauty 😘

Aeria Skin Hydra Repair Mask key ingredients:
1. Peptide
2. Vitamin E
3. Vitamin B3 (aka niacinamide)
4. Centella asiatica
There is indeed a scent within the mask, but nothing unbearable. After using this mask, I did feel my skin very hydrated and brightened (due to niacinamide). I used this mask after having a slight skin irritation (probably caused by either seasonal transitional change or pollution) because I was hoping would soothe my skin, which it did!

I recently discovered SainTFengel's Galaxy Purifying Gel Masque thanks to @amabiebeauty! 😻

SainTFengel's Galaxy Purifying Gel Masque claims to "intensively purify and minimize pores [as well as to] restore a soft and refined skin complexion." Its active ingredients are composed of:
Bamboo Charcoal
 Pearl Powder
 Tremella Fuciformis
 Hyaluronic Acid (HA)

As I opened the mask jar, I understand why the brand associated the galaxy with the product because it is as if you are staring at the stars in within the galaxy jar. The mask is a gel consistency texture that feels weightless on the skin. It has also a light scent but nothing overwhelming for those who are sensitive to fragrances.

After leaving it for fifteen minutes with the help of the spatula, I do see how the mask made my skin softer and much hydrated. My pores do seem to be minimized a bit as well! After using it a few times I did not have any bad reaction towards the mask.

Tip: I suggest putting this mask in the fridge prior use for an extra cooling effect!

SNP Animal Otter Aqua Mask
Supply concentrated moisture to skin
Notable ingredients:
Coconut water
Witch hazel water
Hyaluronic Acid
Fit & Scent:
The sheet mask fitted my small face but it projected a light scent that didn't overwhelm me. It quickly faded with time.
Overall, this mask was entertaining as it had an otter image printed on the mask compared to a plain white one. Other than that aspect, this was just another normal hydrating mask. After half an hour, my skin was hydrated, soft and supple for sure. I would recommend character masks only if you sheet mask with another person/people to make the experience more enjoyable. You can take photos with your friend/s instead taking selfies alone

As someone with sensitive and dry skin, I can't stand foaming cleansers that strip out your moisture. This vegan cleanser has a gel texture (as shown in the second photo) that is gentle enough to clean my face. I don't have mad expectations from cleansers other than keeping my face refreshed, hydrated and cleaned. After using for almost half a year now, I can confirm this cleanser met all three requirements. If only Instagram can let you smell how lovely the light scent of green food from this product! Nothing overwhelming, I promise
Apparently, you can also use this to remove makeup but I have not tried it. I always used micellar water or cleansing oil to do so. I don't want to waste more green tea leaves like I did for this photo
Youth to the People does not use any color, fragrance, parabens and soap. The company also packages small batches of products so when you buy your cleanser, you know it hasn't been sitting on the shelves for decades. The box also states its expiration date under the bottom
I got this from Sephora and honestly for the price you pay for this 237ml of product in a glass bottle (yes you read it right: glass packaging!), I believe it's worth it. You don't need several bottles in your bathroom. One good cleanser can make a difference and Youth to the People definitely did to my face!
If you're looking for a green cleanser, I would highly recommend this one
RIP to the wasted Angelina Paris' Mint Green Tea leaves for this post

Papa Recipe's Original Bombee Honey Mask is my holy grail mask! I finished a box of it before and definitely kept repurchasing it since then. I heart propolis this much! 😁

I had high hopes on this mask as Garnier is late in the sheet mask industry. This is just a normal hydrating mask; nothing mind blowing aside from a very soft tissue mask. The fragrance is also a bit overwhelming for my liking because it didn't fade away with time. However, my hands seem to love the leftover essence since it made my hands soft! Sadly I got cc the next day due to this mask so I would not dare to venture further with this sheet mask line from Garnier until they reformulate it and from another country too. This mask was made in China FYI ☹️

My second pack! A good travel companion! It doesn't strip out your skin moisture and gentle enough on the skin.

Sugar Passion Tinted Lip Treatment - Beauty gurus have been raving about Fresh’s lip balm collection and it is indeed a good collection. I chose this color because it is the most pigmented one from the collection according to me. It does keep my lips hydrated but the only con about this product is that if you keep it in your pockets, the heat melts the product. As a result, you will end up having a melting lip balm. So keep it in your cosmetic bag/handbag (and away from the sun heat)!

I used this Sexylook's Intensive Brightening Duo Lifting sheet mask which was ah-mah-zing. Not only it covers your face and ears, it includes your neck as we often forget that area needs some TLC too. As shown in the picture, I was definitely in a rose theme therapy. I also used L'Occitane's Roses et Reine (Roses & Queen) hand and nail cream because my hands were dry af lately. L'Occitane never failed me in hydrating my hands 🙂
The essence was creamy and not dripping wet on the skin which I LOVE
♥️ However, there was barely any leftover essence in the pouch but I'm okay with that. I also noticed there were gold flakes (sings 24k Magic by @brunomars in the background 🎵) on the sheet mask, making my pampering experience more luxurious than it is. I'm assuming gold flakes brightens one's skin? I'm not sure but correct me if I'm wrong!
Even though I have sensitive skin and alcohol was the sixth ingredient in the list, I did not have any skin irritation after using this product. My skin was smooth, plumped and brightened! I realized many Taiwanese brands have alcohol listed at the beginning of their sheet masks but still does not break me out unlike Western brands.

Although Philosophy's Purity One Step Cleanser has a ph of 5.5, I still think the price for this product is too high for what it actually does. I only got mine from last year's Sephora Black Friday deal but honestly, it does not live up to the hype that the Internet brags about. Yes it is gentle on the skin but it does not really remove makeup as effective as you double cleanse with an oil cleanser and another cleanser of your choice. I had trouble finishing my bottle because I only use it when I am extremely tired and I need to remove sunscreen out of my face (and not makeup). I would really consider another cleanser if you are on the fence of buying this item.

I had an allergic reaction to dust last winter and this saved my skin. Not only it soothed my skin but this cream hydrated me from the cold and harsh winter in North America. I highly recommend this cream during winter since it's a bit thick for summer.

I tried so many sunscreens but they either dry me out or leave a white cast. This Dior one runs like an essence and it does not leave a white cast. I apply it before my moisturizer because I felt more comfortable with that combination than after moisturizer like your normally do with sunscreen. Sunscreen companies should definitely learn from Dior because it is the BEST of the BESTEST sunscreens I ever used. It is really expensive for such little bottle so I use it very efficiently... Hehehe

I have the #45 Rouge Tuxedo which is a cherry red color lipstick. Again, I normally don't go venture in lipsticks but this one is definitely a revolutionary one. It glides on your lips so smoothly due to its oil components. With one swipe, this lipstick will give you a hint of color. If you wish to have more color depth, you can add layers of it without drying or overdoing it. This lipstick gives color and moisturizing effect, what is there not to love? You definitely have to re-apply throughout the day which isn't an issue for me because it's so easy to re-apply.

I bought this for two of my girlfriends and they both liked it for the "faux cils" effect, meaning the false lashes effect in French. They said with time, it might dry out but if you add a drop or two of eye drop, the mascara will be good as new!

Another favorite line from YSL for me! I bought #6 (Luscious Cherry), #10 (Tangy Mandarine) and #12 (Tasty Raspberry) in Paris. I tend to grab them more because it's like a lip balm with a hint of subtle color. Among those three, Luscious Cherry is my favorite because its a cherry red that I can apply without a mirror. Plus, it is in the moisturizing side that I don't mind reapplying when the color fades. I know it's a bit pricy for a colored lip balm but if I reach out for them on a daily basis versus a lipstick, then I believe it's worth it. Besides, you only have one pair of lips, so you technically don't need 20 lipsticks in your collection. A handful of them to match your mood and you're good to go!

I'm a fan of YSL lip products and this one did not disappoint. I have the Cherry my Cherie which is Number 5 from the collection. It's a very moisturizing lip tint with a hint of stain and yet, not sticky at all! I used to hate lip gloss due to the sticky aspect of them but this is the only one changed my opinion on lip gloss. I prefer stain/tint lip products over lipsticks because it's not drying and less of a hassle to apply on the lips. If you are looking for a high color pay off lip gloss, this is not for you.

With the use of charcoal powder and natural clay, Neogence's Deep Pore Cleansing Mask washes your pores in minutes. At first, you will see a dark grey color when you apply on your skin. As it dries out, the mask turns fully into a lighter color, which means you can wash it off. If you have excess sebum, or blackheads, you will notice the mask will suck up the excess sebum and reduce blackheads as well. I think this mask can be comparable to Origins' charcoal mask but for the fraction of its price. I normally use this mask in the weekend following by a moisturizer mask.

I tried this product from the Khiels' midnight recovery gift set that I bought. I just finished using the bottle yesterday and I can contest this thing makes my skin so smooth the next morning. I can honestly see myself repurchasing this but I just bought a bottle of Estee Lauder's ANR serum recently. In terms of pricing, Khiels' is definitely in the more affordable side for serums.

This is basically a pre-toner after cleansing your face. I know it was weird to me at first too but this is more liquid texture than my usual toner. When I purchased this, they gave a pack of puffs as well but I use my hands and one pump instead of 3. I only been using this for 2 weeks but so far so good!

I love mugwort masks as much as hyaluronic acid masks. But this Illi's Mugwort Calming mask fit is a bit too fat for me... I was looking forward to this mask because Illi is known for its oriental medicine ingredients. If you have a small face, this mask might be not so fitting for you too. But despite the fit, it's quite moisturizing!

I bought this for my boyfriend's sister and she can't stop talking about this sunscreen. It leaves a light citrus scent which fades quite quickly. It doesn't leave a white cast either because it has a peachy texture for a brightening effect.

I am always on the hunt for a good face sunscreen. I prefer the ones who leave no white cast after applying it and Goodal's Mild Protect Natural Filter Sun Cream SPF 50+ PA+++ is one of them! I have been using it for more than a month and so far, I believe it's a good everyday sunscreen. If you're staying outdoor for awhile, I would not recommend this sunscreen. It's not sweatproof.

I used to use Maybelline Baby Skin Primer and Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer until I bought VDL's Lumilayer Primer Fresh. This is not the original formula, and this one is more hydrating than its predecessor. Bonus point for its multi-purpose function: you can also use it as a highlighter in your cheekbones!

Rubber masks used to be found only in spa previous years ago. Now the brand Lindsay brings this luxury to the masses with her masks. This lavender rubber mask is a delight at-home spa mask for people who needs to brighten and smooth their skin. It feels different from the normal mask because the powder becomes rubber after mixing with water. I highly recommend this if you are in a hunt to try new masks!

Amore Pacific's Treatment Enzyme Peel is one of the BEST of the BEST enzyme exfoliators I ever tried. It's gentle and no harsh beads that some drugstore brands think it works.. You only need a little bit and pour water on it and massage on skin. I use this twice a week!

I wanted to love this as much as the people love this as their cult favorite first cleanser. It was only okay to me though. Nothing spectacular. I prefer Laneige or Shu Uemura cleansing oils over this.

During my recent trip to Sephora, I picked a couple of Boscia sheet masks and this one did not disappoint at all. It definitely hydrates the skin afterwards, leaving very soft skin to touch! The camellia (tsubaki) oil and the vitamin E from the mask must be working well! I believe people who have very dehydrated skin should pick this up to try!

This is an affordable and effective snail mucin mask. It helps to soothe, protect, and heal the irritated and damaged skin. I use it when I feel a bump on my skin occured (not acne) due to a dust allergy for instance. It is pretty hydrating and the mask stays in place!

Have you ever felt you needed a product to restraint you from touching your acne pimples but at the same time to heal your pimple as well? Ladies and gentlemen, this is the product you have been waiting for: CosRX's Acne Pimple Master Patch. Everytime I have an acne pimple that just popped up on my skin, I put this hydrocolloid patch on it and leave it on overnight. The next morning, the patch sucks up all the gunk out so it increases the speed to heal faster. I often go out with this patch on my face during the day as well when I don't have makeup on to run errands. It's barely noticeable!

Natural BHA Skin Returning A-SOL is a hydrating toner that contains AHA, natural BHA, hyalauronic acid, tea tree extract. It also has 60% black bee propolis which helps prevent acne. This toner aims to hydrate your skin, to prevent breakouts, to remove impurities and to help control sebum. I'm a huge fan of propolis products and this one is definitely high in my list as well. If you use it, make sure you wait at least 15-30 minutes before moving on to your next skincare step. Avoid Vitamin C products when using this as well!

Vitamin C is the one of the best ingredients out there to treat hyperpigmentation (aka dark spots or sun spots). Klairs' Freshly Juiced Vitamin C serum contains 5% Vitamin C concentation. Some people put it all over their face but I prefer using it as a spot treatment where you are most prone to get sun spots (on the cheeks for instance). You must stick to it for a couple of months to see actual results though. No such thing as miracle serum!

Products that contain BHA can help reduce blackheads. The Cosrx BHA Blackhead Power Liquid is a great option. It is a chemical exfoliant with 4% Betaine Salicylate, which is an ingredient that clears and prevents blackheads. This exfoliator goes deep inside your pores to dissolve blackheads. Please read the instructions prior using it because many users have misused this product with other products in conjuction.

CosRX's Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence is an essence (or serum) with 96% snail secretion. It's good for those who needs to regenerate their skin from acne scars or blemishes. I typically use it after washing my face and applying toner. I have been using it for over 2 months now and I haven't broken out from it. Snail secretions must be doing a good job to my skin!

Despite the fact that alcohol is 5th from the ingredient list, this mask still delivers hydrating properties. It didn't irritate my skin (although I tend to avoid products with alcohol). I picked this up because I always loved Mamonde rose water, but if you want a hydrating mask, there are better alternatives out there from Leaders or Mediheal for instance.

I used to like this cleanser a lot UNTIL I found its younger sibling: Shiseido Perfect Speedy Perfect Whip Facial Wash. Instead of use tools to foam the cleanser, you just pump the foam out and voila. If you love this cleanser, definitely check the upgraded version. It saves you time (and time is money)!

When a lady's best friend T.O.M. (Time of the month) arrives, hormonal acne can occur. I use this before and during that period of time to calm my hormonal acne/bumps on my face. Roses have calming/healing properties and I find this mask do calm my hormonal acne. Definitely a mask to try if you're looking for one to calm your hormonal acne! =)

This MBD black pearl mask never failed me from achieving this inner glow on my skin before an event or a date. Not only this mask is affordable, but it also really brightens and moisturize your complexion. This mask is always included in my repurchase list (unless they change the formula!).

For daily masks, I prefer Japanese brands like Lululun do a better job than their Korean competitor brands. This pack of masks really does moisturize your skin and have no scent and no addictives which is definitely a bonus for me. Don't expect anything more than moisturizing properties because its fairly cheap for sheet masks.
